Bishop Creighton House
Bishop Creighton House

Bishop Creighton House (www.creightonhouse.org) has been working in Hammersmith & Fulham for over 100 years, caring for older people in our local community.

An integral part of St Paul’s Cityshaping vision is to see all members of our community flourish and feel valued.

There are many older people in Hammersmith who experience social isolation due to circumstances beyond their control. In partnership with Bishop Creighton House, we can support these older people by building friendships and practical help.

How can I help?

Through volunteering, you can enable isolated older people to renew social contact and access the things in life which we all need to stay happy - friendship, new opportunities, new learning, access to transport, access to better leisure, health and care services.

Volunteers can help to support older who are isolated in a variety of ways, including:

  • daily telephone befriending to check people are safe and well
  • visiting and befriending an isolated person in their own home
  • providing companionship and support to someone who has just come home from hospital
  • accompanying someone outdoors to assist them to remain independent in the community and avoid becoming housebound.

If you would like to volunteer or would like to find out more, please contact Charlotte Ness here or call 020 7385 9689.
