This is an exciting time to join our growing team at Saint Paul’s Hammersmith. Our church is strategically based in the dynamic and diverse London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. We are looking for a Sunday Verger who will be part of a passionate and committed team responsible for facilitating Sunday services, as we seek to see God`s Presence transform our Church community and beyond.Overall Purpose of Role
The Sunday Verger will be responsible for supporting the Sunday teams in facilitating the practical elements required to ensure the smooth running of Sunday services. They will be responsible for opening and locking up the Church, the reset of chairs, ensuring health and safety protocols are followed by the congregation, regularly patrolling the grounds, and working alongside the Hospitality team to assist visitors with questions or concerns.Our Vision at Saint Paul’s

Working Requirements
This is a casual working role with ad hoc hours, mainly on a Sunday. Ability to work in shift patterns across Sunday, as outlined below, but with the ability to work flexibly depending on the requirements of the roleShift 1: 8am – 1.30pm / Shift 2: 4pm to 8pm

Role Purpose
The Volunteer Receptionist will play a key role in creating a warm and welcoming environment for all who enter Saint Paul’s. This is an opportunity to serve the church and community by greeting visitors, supporting our partner charities, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations at the front of house.
This role suits someone with a heart for hospitality and a passion for meeting people, who is flexible and enjoys engaging with a diverse range of visitors.
Key Responsibilities
Front of House Duties: Provide a professional and warm welcome to everyone entering the building, reflecting the values of hospitality and service.
Visitor Management: Greet and guide guests, partner charity clients, and café users, ensuring they know where to go and feel cared for.
Deliveries and Coordination: Manage incoming deliveries, coordinating with the café team and staff to ensure efficient handling.
Pastoral Sensitivity: Be attentive to the needs of visitors, responding to pastoral concerns with care and referring issues to the appropriate pastoral team members.
Collaboration with Café Manager: Work with the Café Manager to ensure users of the café are well-informed and directed.
Support Partner Charities: Assist partner charities by managing the flow of their clients in and out of the building.
Communication: Handle telephone and email enquiries as needed, ensuring prompt and professional responses.

Role Purpose
The Youth Pastor will lead, nurture, and develop the youth ministry (ages 11–18) at Saint Paul’s, shaping it into a thriving and spiritually vibrant community. This role involves fostering discipleship, mentoring relationships, growing strong volunteer teams, and developing innovative outreach programmes. The Youth Pastor will build strong connections with local schools, maximise collaboration with existing initiatives and embody the vision of Saint Paul’s to empower the emerging generation in their faith and leadership.We are open to creative possibilities in building the best possible youth ministry at Saint Paul’s. Key Responsibilities
Vision and Discipleship
Communicate and inspire the vision of Saint Paul’s Hammersmith to young people aged 11-18.
Foster healthy spiritual growth in the youth community through meaningful relationships, mentoring, and group discipleship.
Develop and oversee a structured mentoring and discipleship network for the youth.
Mission and Outreach
Create and deliver a mission action plan aimed at reaching local unchurched youth, with a vision of building strong relationships with surrounding secondary schools.
Innovate, plan, and execute engaging youth events and activities that appeal to and impact young people from various backgrounds.
Run and oversee the midweek evening youth and Sunday youth provision.
Volunteer Leadership and Development
Manage the trainee youth pastor and oversee the Discipleship Year students attached to the youth team.
Recruit, equip, train, and pastorally support volunteer youth team, ensuring they are effectively resourced and inspired to lead.
Offer spiritual guidance and practical training to empower the volunteer team to excel in their roles.
Family and Community Engagement
Continue to build positive and supportive relationships with parents, providing clear communication and guidance about youth ministry activities.
Safeguarding and Administration
Ensure the youth ministry is a safe and welcoming environment, fully compliant with safeguarding policies, including DBS checks and training.
Maintain accurate and efficient organisational systems for planning and executing events and activities.
General Leadership
Participate actively in the pastoral and missional leadership of Saint Paul’s.
Model, uphold, and champion the vision and values of Saint Paul’s within and beyond the youth ministry.
Collaborate as a proactive and committed member of the broader ministry team.
Desired Skills and Experience
Proven experience in youth ministry, demonstrating measurable growth and discipleship among young people.
Track record of recruiting, training, and developing effective volunteer teams.

Key Church Services and Events
Key annual church events: Annual Parochial Church Meeting, Church Weekend, and select evening events.
Easter and Christmas services.

Package
Annual salary: £27,000 – £34,000 depending on experience.
Holiday: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, plus a day off for your birthday.
